Birthdays and Rock-N-Roll
Submitted by: Jim Ford - 07/14/03 6:32 pm
We are just plain tuckered out! Haley and I had a fun-filled weekend. I had Friday off for being on call the week prior. Spent Friday mowing, doing laundry, etc. Went to Cracker Barrel for dinner and then rented a couple of movies.

There was lots of splashing and swimming, hamburgers and hotdogs, party favors, gifts, cake, ice cream, and everything you could imagine. Melissa and Brian did a great job putting the party together. Rilie loved Haley's gift of the classic game, CandyLand. Haley, Rilie, and one of her friends posed for this great shot. When it was all said and done, Haley was ready for a big nap. Me too!

Saturday evening, it was time for the Annual Nth of July party at Ed's out in Mayflower. This year's festivities were very low-key compared to years past, but still a lot of fun. There was lots of live music in which I played drums for almost every song! There was a Plazma Kutterz reunion(my old band). Click for Larger imageFelt just like the old days for a couple of hours. Okay, we were really rusty, but what a great time! It gave me the music bug again. A few of Ross's friends from in highschool and college played and were just plain awesome. They have a band of their own so I sat in to play current edge-rock. What a blast. The singer was a 17 year-old singer/songwriter who was just incredible. Hard to believe that voice was coming out of a kid.

Cheryl and Ed played with Haley a lot of the night. Haley always has a great time and even grabbed the mic to sing her ABC's for everyone, for standing ovation of course. It was late, and we headed home.

Sunday was the usual: Cinnamon rolls for breakfast, church, and then lunch. Normally it's Pizza Inn, but we tried Ryan's for a change and we are so full! Haley is napping now and I feel so lucky to be alive. What a great weekend!
