DJ Jim in the Hizzle! Everyone knows I've drummed in many bands, sang back-up vocals, and even played some rythym guitar. But did you know I DJ parties too? A few weeks ago, I DJ'd a party in downtown Conway and had a blast! Check out the pics. A member of my church knows I have all that band equipment and passed my name on to a friend of his in New York. She wanted to throw her husband a big birthday party in their hometown of Conway. We hooked up the details. I told her, I play the music for free... you're paying me to haul all that expensive equipment around, set up, tear down, etc. Not to mention, the equipment is around $5,000 and the songs I've accumulated are about that much as well. So $325 for almost 5 hours of partying... it's a bargain! For this party, I used a small set up. I can play medium and large events as well with another 2 huges power amps, another main speaker, 3 18" subwoofers, crossover, 4 more huge DJ lights and another 4 huge colored gel lights... all interactive and hooked up to my lighting control system. I can rawwk you shtuff! You have to have lots of music from all genres and ages because you never know what kind of party or situation you'll be asked to play and you never know what someone will request. I have a little mental guide to get the party lubricated with some general hang out music that people from 4 years to 80 years can enjoy. Kinda let's the old people hang out then head home. I slowly start adding more rock, then hip hop/dance, some funk and disco, and by that time... everyone is so schnockered it doesn't matter! This was a small party of family and friends, but a great time for everyone including me! If you'd like information on having me DJ your party, wedding, event... just lemme know!
