Vroom Vroom! From my early days of mowing at Sherwood drive until this weekend, I've always mowed using a 16-21" push mower. Which is great for exercising your entire body. But when you really just need to get the job done quickly, it's a pain in the rear. And if I go more than a week without mowing during peak periods, it is terrible to mow/bag. I said I'd never wuss out and get a rider until I had at least an acre to mow. However now that I'm working in Little Rock, it knocks out an extra 2-3 hours everyday in commute time. So on an average day after work, I have an hour to mow before dark. And in summer time with Haley, we have so many things we like to do together. I don't want to spend all my weekend time mowing. So this weekend, I finally broke down and bought a riding lawnmower. It's a 42" dual blade deck with automatic transmission. With a 19 horsepower Kohler Courage twin cam engine, this Super Bronco kicks serious butt. Woo hoo! Had to spend an extra $300 for a rear-bagger attachment. This sucker is bad to the bone. 5 levels of automatic height adjustment, headlights for mowing at night (righttt!), and even a beer ... uhh... I mean, cold beverage holder. I've never used a rider, so I tested it out on the side yard. Accidentally scalped it. I'm used to the push mower at 6 horsepower bogging down on tall grass. Not this mofo. I still have to practice and figure out how to get it done without the yard looking like a big circle path, but it took me maybe 5 minutes on the rider versus 45 minutes on the push. Come see this thing... you'll be jealous. :-)
