Haley's 8th Birthday My little baby had her 8th birthday last weekend and I can't believe she's growing up so fast. Since she moved to Louisiana 5 1/2 years ago, this is the first birthday she's had in Conway. I haven't thrown a little girl party and needed lots of help. Thank goodness for friends! Haley was very excited as she'd had a miniature party at school and a big party at her Mom's the day before. Now on to Daddy's for the actual birthday! Our friends Molly and Michael Parker hosted the party at their home in Conway. They're just super people. Miss Molly made this custom cake from scratch. 2 tiers, fondent icing, pink and purple flowers, white and chocolate layers. It was just too yummy. So many people ask her to make cakes and we are lucky to know her. She also hand made custom party invitations that matched the cake. Unbelievable! In the last 2 pics you see Haley making a wish and blowing out the candles as we all sang Happy Birthday!

After playtime we all painted on canvas matting. The kids loved it. Then on to presents and eating ice-cream and cake. And finally it was time for Haley to open presents. She loves her Cheetah Girl doll that sings, the Hannah Montana charm bracelet, the dress and boots, jewelry, and the canvas mounted H for Haley on a pink matting.

Finally, Daddy rolls out her brand new bicycle. No more little girl pink and flowery. This is the big girl bicycle with large wheels, longer handle bars, and the whole 9 yards. She loved it and road around the neighborhoo. In fact, we all did! I had to adjust the handle bars and seat later for her. She looks like she's riding a low-rider Harley. She's had a tricycle, smaller bicycle, and a scooter; but now she's really good at riding. I'll be teaching her how to pop wheelies and go off-road with it this summer at the bike trail.

Seems like just yesterday I fell off the bed when her Mom told me she was going into labor and we zoomed off to the hospital. Little did we know 8 years later she would be so beautiful, smart, talented, loving, caring, energetic, and everything a parent could want in a kid.
