Job Search Is Over! If you've kept up with me over the last year you know it's been a struggle job-wise. My last permanent job was last June and my temp/contract job at Alltel ended in early January. I've had my resume on Monster.com and have been researching and applying for jobs all around Little Rock. It's just been a very tight market for senior level positions. The tough part was I was getting plenty of interviews but the jobs weren't exactly what I was looking for. I want a career, not just a job. Something I can be excited about and make an impact while earning good money. My old fraternity buddy D.K. sent my resume to a manager he'd worked with at Entergy who was expanding his department. I got the interview (along with 2 other ones at different companies that day) and was really impressed with the people, the systems they work on, and the company culture. They called me back a week or so later with a fantastic offer, and I just started this week! Working in downtown Little Rock, close to everything, and really loving it so far. There's a tremendous amount to learn and train on. Our department works on Entergy's market systems that support the electric transmission sales for Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and parts of Texas. I'll be doing SQL, C++, ASP.NET, Java, and lots more. If you're a techie person.... this is really cool. I'm very excited to be working full-time again. My prayers have been answered!
