The trip continued and we spent hours and hours in the shops, oceans, and sights in Cancun. We ate and ate and ate, and drank and drank and drank! I highly suggest going to an all-inclusive resort if you can. I thought we were both pretty tan when we began the trip but boy did we ever get some sun. There were many clubs and discoteques you could go to but they were outrageously expensive. The hotel bar may not have been as cool but it was all you can drink for free and we met up with some friends from Chicago and somewhere in England to party down!

We of course, spent a lot of time on the beach. Mexico spent an enormous amount of money pumping sand from the ocean to fix the beaches destroyed during Hurricane Katrina. The sand was super white and fine and we had a blast! Here I am in a typical shot as the sun was going down one evening. Debbie and I came across a group of drunken tourists burying some guy in the sand complete with sand and shell body parts of both sexes! (yes, liquor is suspected here). And then the next day as I'm feeling for shells and sand dollars with my toes.

Okay, so the clue was to grab several beers poolside and head to the ocean (hard to navigate sandy steps when you've been drinking!) so you'd have plenty beachside while you play! We played and played like little kids. I almost told Debbie about this big wave about to swallow her up but it was too funny catching the expression on her face when she realized herself. I tried to replicate the shot myself but couldn't quite get the same look. And as the beer flowed and flowed... apparently I thought it'd be funny to grab my "moobs" seductively. Umm... yeah. The funniest part, which I don't have a picture of, is I thought it'd be hilarious to snatch Debbie's bikini bottom as she was swimming and tease her a bit. But the best laid plans never seem to work out when conceived under the influence. So as I laugh hysterically at my skills and tromp away with the bottoms on my head and she's yelling and laughing at me to bring them back... a wave hits me. Swishhhh! The bottoms are GONE and being pulled away fast by the current. Holy moly! I almost had a heart-attack cause she's out in the ocean and I just took and lost her clothes! I'm frantically looking when I spot them about 20 feet away mixed in with some kelp or seaweed. Each time I'd get anywhere close they were whisked away in a different direction and starting to sink. At some point, which seems like an eternity, I maniacally dive on top and retrieve them. We're both extremely relieved. And even though it was funny as all get out... I was scared of what she'd do if I couldn't find them. Crisis averted!

So I kinda get the days and nights mixed up on when we did certain activities. But I'm positive we saw an actual circus in the big ballroom at the hotel with acrobats and some really cool performers. Those pics didn't turn out well but here's a shot of Debbie relaxing with some wine before the dinner/circus. And another of us chillin in the hotel bar trying to get my nerve up for karaoke. And finally, a group shot of our new friends and us with a flag Micky from England takes and photographs everywhere in the world he travels. Those guys were some party ANIMALS!

We heard some cheesy American line dance song and of course, why not line dance at the hotel bar with your friends! And at some point, I did get the courage to sing for the crowd. Can anyone guess what I sang? Bon Jovi Livin on a Prayer of course! My all-time favorite song!! Some of the singers before me were lame and the crowd was dead. But I got 'em into it and had people singing and dancing with me! I was awesome! Ummm... in my head I was!

We spent one full day out shopping in the flea markets and checking out local sights. I think mostly the vendors get the shtuff from one distributor because everyone had the same tshirts and trinkets. Everyone called you to come in their shops but some were really aggressive. First, I don't want to buy any silver. Who wants silver? Second, don't get angry when someone doesn't want to come to your shop. And finally, some of them were really funny and trying anything to get you in. People were yelling, "Free beeeeers! Free ta keeela!". But this one guy, gotta love him, said, "I've got free weeeed. And my seeester is very pretty and will do whatever you want for free!". Holy moly. Ha ha. We didn't take anyone up on those offers but I did get a bunch of souvenirs, a red dress for Debbie, and some real Cuban cigars from my little buddy at the cigar shop. We went on to walk all over the town as you see Debbie posing with The Mask at club Coco Bongo and then as an inside joke, under neath the sign at Hooters that read "Brats Pay Double".

We cleaned up and went to dinner before partying and hanging out with our friends for the night. Neither of us smoke but we sure tried since you can't legally have Cuban cigars in America. Why not, it's vacation! I think Debbie looked a lot better than I did. Good times!

Click for Larger imageI accidentally drank with my new buddies till 6:00 am when Debbie came down to get me. I was SO tired and hungover as we packed and made our way to the airport and back to Arkansas. What a fantastic weekend and I am lucky to have a friend like Debbie! She was very patient and giving to make the trip happen and I'm thankful for that.
